Meet Tiara Burnett

 

Tiara Burnett is serving her first term as a City Councilmember for Hagerstown, MD. Tiara graduated from North Hagerstown High School in 2002, obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Pre-Veterinary Science from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore, and a Master of Science in Regulatory Affairs of Drugs, Biologics, and Medical Devices from Northeastern University.  Tiara has a career in biotechnology and cell gene therapeutics for over 15 years.

She is active throughout the community, formerly served on the Board of Directors for the Robert W. Johnson Community Center. Currently serving as a Board of Director for Beyond the Arc Foundation/Ruthann Monroe Summer Basketball League. In her new role, she serves as the Council representative for the Washington County Diversity and Inclusion Committee and the Community Rescue Service. Tiara finds purpose in community involvement and activism through youth empowerment, education, voter rights, equal rights, and transforming our voices into visible improvements.
